Ingredients

  • 1 large chicken
  • 6 cups bread cubes
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 6 leaves sage, ground
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 4 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the chicken bouillon cubes in boiling water and set aside to create broth.
  2. Stew the chicken, then remove bones and place the meat in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  3. Pour the undiluted cream of chicken soup over the chicken in the baking pan.
  4. Mix the bread cubes with finely chopped onion, ground sage, melted butter, salt, and pepper to prepare the dressing.
  5. Pour the dressing mixture over the chicken and soup in the baking pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes to 1 hour until hot and bubbly.
