Parmesan Twists
Crisp Parmesan twists with a cheesy, savory flavor, perfect as a snack or appetizer. Lightly seasoned with Italian herbs and topped with seeds for added crunch.

- Cream the softened margarine in a mixing bowl.
- Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese and sour cream, mixing well until smooth.
- Combine all-purpose flour and Italian seasoning.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, blending until smooth.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Divide the dough in half.
- Roll out one half to a 12 x 7-inch rectangle.
- Cut the rectangle into 6 (1/2-inch) strips.
- Twist each strip 2 or 3 times and place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining dough.
- Mix the beaten egg yolk with water.
- Brush the strips with the egg mixture and sprinkle with caraway or poppy seed.
- Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
