A hearty savory pastie filled with seasoned ground beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, and rutabaga, encased in a flaky crust—perfect for comfort food lovers and family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. ground round
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. potatoes
  • 1/2 c. carrots
  • 3/4 c. yellow onions
  • 1/2 c. rutabaga

Instructions

  1. Chop or cube potatoes, carrots, onions, and rutabaga.
  2. Mix all ingredients well with hands.
  3. Use your own pie crust recipe for a double crust pie (10-inch pie pan).
  4. Put the mixed ingredients into the pie crust and vent the top of the crust.
  5. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350° and bake for an additional 45 minutes or until golden brown.
