Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken livers, cooked
  • 1 onion
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • 3/4 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 4 slices cooked bacon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. cognac
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/3 c. butter

Instructions

  1. Put melted butter in a blender; add peeled onion and chop.
  2. Cook chicken livers, onion, nutmeg, ground ginger, salt, pepper, and cognac together; bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix applesauce, cooked bacon, and hard-boiled eggs with the butter mixture in the blender.
  4. Add the cooked liver mixture to the blender and blend everything together.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish, chill, and garnish with olives, parsley, or your preferred garnish.
