Ingredients

  • 4 lb. spareribs
  • 1 (7 3/4 oz.) jar strained junior peaches
  • 1/3 c. catsup
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Cut the ribs into serving-size pieces and place in a large pot.
  2. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer until tender, about 40 to 50 minutes.
  4. Drain the ribs.
  5. Place the meat in a shallow baking pan.
  6. Combine the strained peaches, catsup, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ground ginger to make the marinade.
  7. Pour the marinade over the meat and let marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
  8. Drain the ribs well, reserving the marinade.
  9. Grill the ribs over hot coals for 40 to 50 minutes, depending on thickness.
  10. Baste with the reserved marinade frequently during cooking.
