Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar. If you're out of peanut butter, almond butter works as an excellent substitute. Make sure to cream the sugars and butters well to ensure a soft cookie. For a fun twist, add chocolate chips or chopped nuts for extra texture. These cookies are a delightful treat, reminiscent of American recipes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use natural peanut butter for this recipe?

Yes, you can use natural peanut butter, but it may result in a slightly different texture. Natural peanut butter tends to be more runny, so you might need to adjust the flour slightly to ensure the dough holds its shape when baking.

What should I do if my dough is too sticky?

If your dough is too sticky to handle, try chilling it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This will firm it up and make it easier to shape into balls. Remember that the dough will spread a little during baking, so don't worry if it feels a bit dense before baking.

How can I make these cookies gluten-free?

To make these cookies gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend. Make sure to use a blend that includes xanthan gum to help bind the ingredients together, ensuring the cookies maintain their texture and don't crumble.
