Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. fine chopped pears
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together the oil, sugar, and eggs until well blended.
  2. Sift the dry ingredients — flour, soda, salt, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon — and gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing well.
  3. Fold in vanilla, chopped pears, chopped nuts, and raisins until evenly combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
