Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 2/3 cups chopped pecans
  • 2/3 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large heavy pot, add all the ingredients.
  2. Cook to a hard boil stage (260°F) on the stove.
  3. Quickly add pecans and beat for one minute.
  4. Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet, filling about two-thirds full.
  5. Let cool and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  6. Great at Christmastime!
