Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolk and beat well.
  3. Mix in flour, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  4. Press the dough into an ungreased biscuit pan.
  5. Beat egg whites slightly and add 1 tablespoon sugar.
  6. Spread the egg white mixture over the dough with your hand.
  7. Press chopped pecans into the top.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  9. Cut into strips while hot and serve.
