Phillipine Egg Rolls

Philippine Egg Rolls feature savory ground meat, fresh vegetables, and crispy wrappers, perfect as an appetizer or snack for gatherings and family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 3 cups fresh bean sprouts
  • soy sauce to taste
  • cooking oil
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers

Instructions

  1. Fry the chopped onion until limp.
  2. Add ground turkey or beef, chopped celery, grated carrot, garlic salt, and soy sauce to the pan.
  3. Brown the mixture, then drain off excess grease.
  4. Add bean sprouts and mix well.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings if desired.
  6. Spoon a small amount of filling onto each egg roll wrapper.
  7. Fold two opposite sides over the filling about 3/4 inch each.
  8. Roll up the wrapper according to the package illustration.
  9. Seal the edge with water by running your finger along the edge of the wrapper.
  10. Heat 1/2 inch of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  11. Add 4 egg rolls and brown on both sides lightly.
  12. Repeat until all egg rolls are cooked.
  13. Drain on paper towels.
  14. Serve with duck sauce.
