Ingredients

  • 4 qt. unpeeled cucumbers
  • 4 large green peppers
  • 4 large onions
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 3 cups white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 4 cups sugar
  • garlic and cloves to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons celery seed

Instructions

  1. Chop cucumbers fine; add salt; cover cucumbers with ice and let stand for 3 hours.
  2. Chop onions and peppers very fine; set aside.
  3. In a large pot, heat vinegar, sugar, turmeric, celery seed, and cloves; bring to a boil.
  4. Add chopped vegetables and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Can and seal.
