A refreshing pineapple-apple dessert combining sweet canned pineapple, crisp apples, and creamy Cool Whip, perfect for a cool, fruity treat suitable for family gatherings or potlucks.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz. can crushed pineapple in juice
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 stick oleo
  • 4 medium Delicious apples
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Cook pineapple with juice, sugar, flour, and oleo over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick (about 5 minutes).
  2. Set aside to cool.
  3. Peel and chop apples finely and add to the cooled pineapple mixture.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Pour into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch or similar size dish.
  6. Cover with Cool Whip.
  7. Top with chopped nuts.
  8. Refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight.
