Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 slightly heaping teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream the Crisco and add sugar, mixing very well.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Sift the flour and add it to the mixture alternately with the milk that has baking powder dissolved in it.
  4. Beat to mix thoroughly.
  5. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
