- In a large bowl, mix butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, eggs, walnuts, and vanilla.
- Beat the mixture for 3 minutes on medium speed or until light and fluffy.
- Stir in 1 cup of chips.
- Spread the batter into an 8-inch microwave-safe baking dish.
- Cover with waxed paper.
- Cook on High for 4 minutes.
- Rotate the dish 1/4 turn.
- Cook on High for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until the top appears dry and the bottom has an even color.
- Sprinkle the remaining chips over the warm cake.
- Let stand for 10 minutes, then spread the melted chips evenly over the cake.
- Cool directly on the countertop.
