Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, eggs, walnuts, and vanilla.
  2. Beat the mixture for 3 minutes on medium speed or until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in 1 cup of chips.
  4. Spread the batter into an 8-inch microwave-safe baking dish.
  5. Cover with waxed paper.
  6. Cook on High for 4 minutes.
  7. Rotate the dish 1/4 turn.
  8. Cook on High for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until the top appears dry and the bottom has an even color.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining chips over the warm cake.
  10. Let stand for 10 minutes, then spread the melted chips evenly over the cake.
  11. Cool directly on the countertop.
