- Drain the crushed pineapple.
- Mix the cake mix, egg yolks, melted butter, and vanilla flavoring until well combined.
- Press the cake mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff, then gradually add sugar and continue beating.
- Fold in the coconut and crushed pineapple into the egg whites mixture.
- Pour the pineapple-coconut mixture over the cake base in the pan.
- Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.
- Allow to cool thoroughly.
- Cut into finger strips and serve.
