Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped or sliced

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and cream with sugar.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time; mix well.
  3. Sift flour, soda, and salt together.
  4. Drain pineapple well.
  5. Add butter, sugar, and eggs, mixing alternately with the flour mixture.
  6. Add chopped or sliced nuts and crushed pineapple.
  7. Pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 40 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
