A creamy pistachio nut torte with a buttery crust, layered with cream cheese and pistachio pudding, topped with whipped cream and chopped nuts for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 6 ounces Cool Whip
  • 2 (3 1/2 ounce) pistachio pudding (instant)

Instructions

  1. Combine margarine and sugar until well blended.
  2. Add flour and chopped nuts; mix thoroughly.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch dish.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes and then cool completely.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Fold in 6 ounces of Cool Whip and spread over the cooled crust.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine pistachio pudding mix with milk and beat on low for 2 minutes.
  8. Spread the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  9. Top with 10 to 16 ounces of Cool Whip and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  10. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
