Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 (10 oz) can tomatoes and green chilies, drained
  • 1 (8 3/4 oz) can corn, drained
  • 5 (6-inch) pita rounds
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef and drain well.
  2. Add taco seasoning mix, water, drained tomatoes with green chilies, and drained corn.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Cut pita bread rounds in half.
  6. Place pita halves on a baking sheet and bake at 250°F for 10 minutes, or until warm.
  7. Fill each pita pocket half full with the meat mixture.
  8. Top with shredded lettuce and cheese.
