Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork or veal cutlets
  • 1 egg
  • cooking oil
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • oregano
  • garlic salt
  • grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Dip the cutlets in beaten egg, then coat with bread crumbs.
  2. Fry the coated cutlets in cooking oil until golden brown.
  3. Pour off excess oil and layer the fried cutlets in a baking dish or skillet.
  4. Pour tomato sauce and half a can of water over the cutlets.
  5. Cover the dish between layers with a lid or foil.
  6. Season with salt to taste, then sprinkle with oregano, garlic salt, and grated cheese.
  7. Add sliced mushrooms if desired.
  8. Simmer the dish covered for about 20 minutes until heated through and cheese melts.
