Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Mix lukewarm water and yeast and set aside for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. In a large bowl, mix boiling water, sugar, and Crisco, then let cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add beaten egg, flour, salt, baking powder, and soda to the mixture.
  4. Mix all ingredients together and put in a bowl with a lid.
  5. Place in refrigerator overnight.
