Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 54 oz. dark red kidney beans
  • 51 oz. tomato puree
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground chuck with onion and chili powder in an 8-quart pot over low heat, stirring as needed to break up the chunks.
  2. Cook until the onions are tender.
  3. Add salt, brown sugar, beans, and tomato puree.
  4. Cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese and serve with a side of oyster crackers.
