A sweet and salty popcorn snack with Cheerios, Rice Chex, and peanuts coated in a caramel-like mixture, perfect for parties, movie nights, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups freshly popped popcorn
  • 2 cups Cheerios
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 6 oz. peanuts
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Mix popcorn, Cheerios, Rice Chex, and peanuts together in a large bowl.
  3. Melt butter or margarine over low heat in a saucepan.
  4. Stir in brown sugar and light corn syrup until well combined.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cook without stirring for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla extract.
  7. Drizzle the hot mixture over the popcorn mixture, tossing to coat evenly.
  8. Spread the coated mixture onto a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
