Poppycock is a crunchy, sweet snack combining caramelized sugar and nuts with fluffy salted popcorn, perfect for parties, movie nights, or as a homemade treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 qt. salted popcorn
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Put butter, syrup, and sugar in a large microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave on High for 10 to 11 minutes.
  3. When candy forms, remove from microwave and add vanilla; stir.
  4. Pour over salted popcorn to which nuts have already been added.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Spread on wax paper.
  7. Cool and break into large pieces.
