Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 hamburger buns
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • coconut

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a baking dish.
  2. Place 6 hamburger bun halves, browned side down, in the melted butter.
  3. Beat well together the eggs, milk, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla to make the custard mixture.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the buns in the baking dish.
  5. Let sit until the liquid soaks into the buns.
  6. Sprinkle generously with coconut on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F until light brown, about 40 minutes.
