- Brown the pork chops in hot oil on both sides; transfer to a saucepan.

- Saute sliced onion in the same pan.
- Add canned plum tomatoes and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the pork chops; season with salt and pepper.
- Cover tightly and simmer until the chops are tender, about 30 minutes.
