Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. center cut pork chops
  • 1 medium round onion, sliced
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup Japanese rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. shoyu
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 large garlic, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp. oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet.
  2. Brown the pork chops with crushed garlic.
  3. Lower heat and let the pork chops simmer in a covered skillet for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove pork chops from skillet and drain half of the liquid.
  5. Stir in tomato juice, vinegar, shoyu, sugar, salt, and pepper into the skillet.
  6. Add sliced onion to the skillet and simmer.
  7. Cut the pork chops into bite-sized pieces, discarding bones.
  8. Stir the chopped pork into the sauce with onion and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  9. Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
