- Fry the bacon until crisp, then drain and crumble it.
- Leave the bacon grease in the pan and add the chopped onions, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic powder, dry mustard, and salt. Cook until the onions are tender.
- Drain the canned beans.
- Add the drained beans and crumbled bacon to the sauce mixture. Mix well.
- Cook slowly on the stove for 20 minutes, then transfer to an oven and bake, covered, for 30 to 45 minutes at 375°F.
