Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 potatoes, peeled
  • margarine
  • salt
  • pepper
  • onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes until done but still firm.
  2. Slice potatoes crosswise.
  3. Warm the cream of mushroom soup.
  4. Layer sliced potatoes in a casserole dish, dot with margarine, and season with salt and pepper on each layer.
  5. Pour warm mushroom soup over the layered potatoes.
  6. Optional: sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F until bubbly, about 30 minutes.
