- Spread 1/2 of the garlic on the large, flat side of the roast.
- Heat oil on medium-high heat in a heavy skillet or pot.
- Sear the roast on the side with garlic on it.
- Spread the remaining garlic on the other side.
- Turn the roast using tongs and a fork.
- Sear the edges as well.
- Set the roast aside.
- Open the soup can and empty it into a crock-pot set on high.
