  • 1 lb. 10x sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. flour, sifted 4 times
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. milk
  • vanilla
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, butter, and Crisco in a mixing bowl.
  2. Cream together until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Blend in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  4. Add sifted flour, baking powder, milk, vanilla, and nutmeg.
  5. Mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour into a prepared baking pan and bake at 350°F for 50 to 55 minutes.
