Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup grated bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/6 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup prune juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup prune pulp
  • 2 eggs
  • Grated lemon rind

Instructions

  1. Mix the chopped nuts, grated bread crumbs, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Remove the stones from the cooked prunes and force the pulp through a sieve.
  3. Add lemon juice and prune pulp to the mixture.
  4. Stir in the dry ingredients. Add the beaten egg yolks until light and lemon colored.
  5. Fold in the beaten egg whites until stiff.
  6. Turn into a greased baking dish and bake in a slow oven. Set the baking dish in a pan of water.
