A sweet, crunchy puffcorn snack coated in caramel-like mixture, perfect for parties or casual snacking, offering a delightful blend of caramel and popcorn flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole bag puffed corn snack
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter.
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
  4. Pour the mixture over the puffed corn snack and mix well.
  5. Spread the coated snack on a lightly buttered sheet cake pan.
  6. Bake in a 275°F (135°C) oven for 30 minutes, stirring once during baking.
  7. Spoon out onto waxed paper to cool.
  8. Once cool, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
  9. Optional: Add nuts or coconut before storing.
