Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1/4 lb. sugar
  • 1/4 lb. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, then add flour and baking powder.
  3. Have cookie sheets greased and floured lightly.
  4. Spread the mixture very thin with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle with chopped nuts (pecans, peanuts, or almonds), then with sugar.
  6. Bake in a moderate oven at about 400°F until a delicate brown.
  7. Cut into squares immediately after baking and remove from the baking sheet.
  8. Store in airtight tins.
