Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. blackberry jam
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
  2. In a separate bowl, add soda to the buttermilk.
  3. Cream the shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the blackberry jam to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  5. Alternately add the buttermilk mixture and flour mixture to the creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the chopped nuts.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
