Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a saucepan, heat oleo, water, and cocoa until it comes to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot cocoa mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl.
  4. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, and vanilla to the mixture and stir well.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
