Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 c. bran
  • 1/2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add bran and chopped dates to the sifted mixture.
  3. Blend in the beaten egg and milk until well combined.
  4. Stir in the melted butter.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 1 hour at 375°F.
