Ingredients

  • 15 to 20 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Karo or honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Pour the popped popcorn into a brown paper grocery sack.
  2. Bring the butter, sugar, and Karo or honey to a boil; then add baking soda.
  3. Let it puff up.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn; shake well to coat evenly.
  5. Microwave the coated popcorn for 30 seconds; shake well afterward.
  6. Pour the caramel popcorn onto wax paper to cool.
  7. Let cool completely before eating.
