Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Blend the softened butter, packed brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the large egg.
  3. Stir in the chopped seedless raisins and pecans.
  4. Resift the sifted flour with the baking powder and salt into the raisin mixture, then blend thoroughly.
  5. Turn the mixture into a greased and floured 8 or 9-inch square pan.
  6. Spread the dough evenly in the pan.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and let stand in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Turn out and cut into squares.
