Raspberry Crisscross Cookies

- Sift dry ingredients; cut in butter as for pie.
- Add beaten eggs and milk.
- Keep 1/4 of dough out.
- Spread the rest on a 10 x 15-inch cake tin.
- Press dough well up along the sides of the pan.
- Spread with jam and sprinkle with nuts.
- Pinch off pieces of reserved dough with palms of hands and make 1/2-inch strips.
- Place strips on top of the jam in a crisscross pattern, 1 1/2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350° to 375°F for 45 minutes.
- Let cool in the pan.
- Cut each strip in the center with a sharp knife so each piece has dough around it.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
