Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 oval-shaped potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup real butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Peel potatoes to a uniform size.
  3. Cut each potato into 1/4-inch slices starting from one end, stopping 1/4-inch from the bottom so slices remain attached.
  4. Place potatoes with sliced side up into a well-greased baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; dot with pieces of butter.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, basting occasionally with butter in the pan.
  7. Mix grated Parmesan cheese and dry bread crumbs together.
  8. Sprinkle generously between the potato slices and over the top.
  9. Bake another 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and tender.
