Ingredients

  • 1 small head cabbage (4 to 5 cups), finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • dash of pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook or steam the chopped cabbage about 5 minutes until tender but crisp.
  2. Blend the egg, cider vinegar, melted butter, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook over low heat until thick, about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool slightly.
  4. Add sour cream to the mixture and pour over the cooked cabbage.
  5. Toss well to coat the cabbage evenly.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
