Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. real mayonnaise
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1/3 c. cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until very smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into two greased and floured 8-inch round pans.
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the cakes cool for 5 minutes in the pans, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
  6. Fill and frost the top and sides with Devil's Food Fudge Frosting.
