Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter until smooth.
  2. Add the brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Stir in eggs one at a time.
  4. Sift together the flour and soda.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, forming a very stiff dough.
  6. Roll the dough into a log and wrap in waxed paper.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
  8. Slice the chilled dough into thin cookies.
  9. Bake as desired.
