Ingredients

  • 1 lb. stew meat
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cups carrots, cubed
  • 2 cups potatoes, cubed
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 can water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire
  • a little cabbage (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the stew meat in a round roaster or oven-safe pan with a cover.
  2. Drain the browned meat.
  3. Add chopped onion, chopped celery, cubed carrots, cubed potatoes, tomato soup, water, salt, pepper, tapioca, Worcestershire, and optional cabbage.
  4. Mix ingredients well.
  5. Cover and bake at 250°F for 5 hours.
  6. Do not remove the cover while cooking.
  7. Alternatively, cook in a slow cooker for 8 to 9 hours.
