Sweet and nutty Rice Krispie Balls combine crispy cereal with dates and pecans, coated in powdered sugar. Perfect for a quick, indulgent treat or party dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks oleo (butter)
  • 1 package pitted dates
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup pecans
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop the pitted dates and pecans.
  2. In a pan, melt the oleo (butter) over medium heat.
  3. Add the sugar and chopped dates to the melted oleo, and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in the Rice Krispies and chopped pecans until well combined.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool until a soft ball can be formed when pinched.
  6. Shape the mixture into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
  7. Store in a covered container.
