Rich Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 1/3 c. sour cream
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped English walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. Grease 1 (9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch) pan or 2 (7 3/8 x 3 5/8 x 2 1/4-inch) pans.
  3. Melt the butter and cool slightly.
  4. Add eggs with sour cream, bananas and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to banana mixture.
  5. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in nuts.
  7. Pour dough into greased bread pan(s). Bake in preheated 325° oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  8. Cool bread in pans for approximately 10 minutes before removing bread to cool on racks.
  9. Store one day before slicing.
  10. Be sure pans are well greased.
