Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo or Crisco
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Place the oleo or Crisco, sugar, salt, and boiling water in a mixing bowl; mix and let dissolve and cool.
  2. Dissolve the dry yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to the first mixture after it has cooled.
  3. Stir in the egg and flour.
  4. Cover with a cloth or Saran Wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
