Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 3 1/4 to 3 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix the baking powder with the flour.
  2. Add butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, and sugar to the mixture.
  3. Mix with your hand until the dough comes together.
  4. If the dough sticks too much to your hand, add a little more flour.
  5. Divide the dough into two parts.
  6. Roll each part thin on a floured surface.
  7. Cut round circles out of one piece of dough and then roll the second piece.
  8. Cut circles from the second dough and cut a small hole in the center of each circle.
  9. Bake each circle separately until golden.
