Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 2 teaspoons lemon peel
  • 1/4 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and beat well.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  4. Add alternately with milk to the egg mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  5. Stir in nuts and lemon peel.
  6. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
