Ingredients

  • 2 (31 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage in a skillet until fully cooked.
  2. Pour the pork and beans into a large bowl.
  3. Add the cooked sausage and chopped onion to the beans.
  4. In a saucepan, boil water, brown sugar, salt, ginger, and dry mustard until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Pour the hot mixture over the sausage, beans, and onion mixture and stir well.
  6. Transfer everything to a casserole dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
